Connectivity on Mount Everest

Ncell, a subsidiary of a Swedish telephone giant has set up a Third generation phone base station, 5,200m above sea level, in the Everest region. The network coverage can be reached up to the summit of Mount Everest, which is 8,848m above sea level. Now climbers can stay connected to the outside even at the summit, which was earlier not possible or difficult. Climbers can communicate with families and friends, request for help in an emergency, surf internet and keep an online log of their ascend to the summit. This is considered a great milestone for mobile communication.
